Planning
The first step in establishing a secure environment is to prepare a plan. The plan should be simple and concise enough to allow for positive steps to be taken and be sufficiently complex to prepare the stakeholders for the wider scope of events they may encounter. Simply put emergency planning cannot be just 911. The plan should include such instruction but must provide additional guidance to better prepare staff to meet the newer challenges. Training
The next step in establishing a secure environment is to properly train your people and empower them to take informed, independent and adaptable action. The mainstay of our training program is our fast paced and interactive Crisis Response Seminar. This 2 hour seminar prepares your staff and others to respond quickly and confidently during high impact negative events such as an active shooter. The seminar is designed to help the audience think and walk through the decision making process and mindsets they will need to lead, act confidently and succeed. The goal is to make better decision makers during these rapidly changing violent events.
Analysis
The final component in building a more a secure environment is to conduct a function test of your organizations planning and training components. The CitySecurED Crisis Leadership Challenge does just that. We design a proprietary, on site, realistic scenario driven evolution with clearly defined goals and measurable objectives. Through the use of a logical timeline progression with increasing difficulty and complexity we are able to assess your planning and training effectiveness accurately. The Crisis Leadership Challenge tests your plans and not your people. Post Crisis Leadership Challenge reports offer recommendations on positive feedback and improvements if needed.
